The 2026 Soccer Aid for UNICEF lineup has officially dropped, and it’s already clear that this year’s match is aiming high.

As always, the appeal lies in the mix. Former internationals lining up alongside household names from music, sport and television. Competitive edge sitting alongside genuine camaraderie. And all of it in support of UNICEF’s work protecting and empowering children around the world.

The first wave of names gives a strong indication of what’s to come.

A lineup that blends legends and star power

On the England squad, confirmed players include:

  • Wayne Rooney, former England and Manchester United striker
  • Jermain Defoe, one of Soccer Aid’s top all-time scorers
  • Jill Scott, Lionesses legend
  • Olly Murs
  • Angry Ginge, Sam Thompson, Jordan North, and Tom Grennan all lined up to bring personality and energy to the squad
  • Rugby star turned Soccer Aid debutant Joe Marler also joins the Three Lions’ ranks
  • Plus other familiar faces including Theo Walcott, Toni Duggan, Steph Houghton and GK Barry

Over on the Soccer Aid World XI, confirmed names include:

  • Jordi Alba, former Barcelona star making his Soccer Aid debut
  • Leonardo Bonucci, World Cup-winning defender
  • Nitro, Big Zuu, Alex Brooker and other recognisable names from sport and entertainment
  • Olympic legend Usain Bolt returns in a leadership role with the World XI

This mix of footballing pedigree and cultural personalities is part of what makes Soccer Aid unique — it’s competitive, it’s charismatic, and it attracts attention far beyond the pitch.

Robbie Williams and Edwin Van der Sar stand front and centre

At the heart of the 2026 announcement are our Tickets for Good ambassadors:

  • Robbie Williams, co-founder of Soccer Aid and manager of the England squad
  • Edwin van der Sar, legendary keeper and part of the World XI roster

Robbie’s connection to Soccer Aid goes back to the very beginning in 2006, and his ongoing commitment has helped grow the event into one of the most high-profile charity fixtures in the sporting calendar. Edwin van der Sar, meanwhile, adds world-class football credibility and leadership from one of the game’s most respected goalkeepers.

Together they set the tone for this year’s match – a blend of real competition and real meaning.

WHat this means for Tickets for Good

At Tickets for Good, we’re always drawn to events that create connection, community and impact.

Soccer Aid for UNICEF does all of that and more. It’s a live occasion packed with atmosphere, packed with personalities fans want to see, and packed with purpose. A lineup that brings together legends like Rooney, iconic internationals like Bonucci and Alba, dynamic debutants like Joe Marler and Nitro, and household names from entertainment reflects exactly the kind of event that brings people together – and for a cause that matters.

For us, that’s what great live experiences are about: memorable performances and meaningful outcomes. As more names continue to be confirmed ahead of May 31, the excitement around this milestone match will only grow.
