Great to be back at the Ticketing Business Forum this week in Manchester.

A big thank you to Ian Nuttall, Angelina Tennino and all the team for yet again bringing together such a strong cross-section of the industry. As always, it was great to hear about innovations in the ticketing sector, new initiatives and developments from across the world.

I was grateful to get involved in various ways. Presenting an award, joining the “Challenging Groupthink” panel, and of course, spending time with partners and peers across the event.

Congratulations to Leon Gray on winning the Movers and Shakers Award, very well deserved! Leon has been a huge supporter for TfG since we launched and we’re very happy to have worked with him for many years.

I’d also like to say a personal thank you to Tim Chambers for his continued support of TfG, he is a constant source of industry insight for which we’re very grateful.

On the panel, one theme really stood out. Group sales and distribution sit at the intersection of revenue, relationships and delivery. When they work, they unlock a whole new stream of value. That is exactly where we see the opportunity at Tickets for Good. We work extensively with thousands of B2B partners, including NHS Trusts, education organisations, charities, local councils, and national Governments, to help bring groups together to enjoy the hundreds of events available at Tickets for Good.

This week also felt like the right moment to talk more about something we have been building. Our Tickets for Good Pay it Forward campaign.

In simple terms, we are using small, optional donations at checkout and partnerships with like-minded organisations to fund ticket purchases that go directly back into the ecosystem.

We are currently working with the Sheffield Independent Venues Alliance SIVA, supporting grassroots venues by purchasing tickets upfront and redistributing them to people who might otherwise not be able to attend.

It is a practical model that supports venues with guaranteed revenue whilst removing cost as a barrier for audiences and therefore, creates new pathways into live events. This project is designed to scale. Our ambition is to grow this into a nationwide set of initiatives, working with partners across ticketing, venues, promoters and communities to open up access at a much larger level.

If you are interested in learning more about Tickets for Good Pay it Forward and exploring how we could work together, I would love to hear from you.
